Has anyone installed the Turner tune on a 128 recently ?

I'm tempted to try the tune on an otherwise stock 128 auto.

Has anyone tried it recently ? I've read a couple of instances of people locking everything up, (generally by not following the instructions), and as it's my daily driver I can't afford to a) $ break it, b) have it disabled.

Almost ready to pull the trigger seeing as there's a $100 discount running this weekend

Worth it ?

I think Chris has the Turner tune. I am pretty sure Turner it is the Active Autowerke tune.

Honestly, i wouldn't bother doing a tune on stock motor. Id say do some mods first then the tune to connect everything.
I know its not the answer you want but

I'm familiar with the greater gains available from other mods, (I can remember how much I spent on my GTO !), but don't intend going down that path.

This is my daily commuter, so just looking to make the most of any low / mid range torque gains available.

At this weekend's price of 550 I was thinking it might be worth trying. At least I get OBD scanning and resets, which has got to be worth $50, in itself

Look up INPA, buy a $20 cable and you can seee every ghost code and activate individual components

INPA is BMW's software essentially

I would spend the money on a three stage manifold and then flash the 330 tune available on BimmerLabs for free.

If you want more power later, a full paid tune will get you more power and throttle response.

Is also flash the Euro 330 automatic file in your trans.

Can't beat the value in this option

Personally, I might just drop 550 on the tune and see what it does, then quietly amble through my daily commute

Honestly, if I wanted to move along briskly I'd still have either my modded, LS2 engined, GTO or CLK 55AMG

Has anyone written an INPA for idiots guide for 2011 + model year cars ? I'll have to do some searching.

I'm not sure I even have a device with a serial port any more ! This is probably already heading deeper than I really have time to go.....

Be warned INPA is helpful but a REAL pain in the ass to get working and then it’s all in German. Might be better off with the Carly BMW app on your phone to read codes.

I think you're absolutely right. Too much potential to mess things up unless you're prepared to invest the time to really educate yourself. I don't think I'd use it enough to make that worthwhile.

You dont need a serial port, i use a windows 10 laptop and use a usb - K + DCAN cable

I got the Turner tune after installing the 3-Stage Manifold. I think it works really well, the throttle response is a good bit better, and it feels more linear. Obviously, it makes more power, too.

I'd look more into a Sprint Booster for daily duty without any of the big mods...

I'd looked at the Sprint Booster, but was thinking I'd get a similar result from the tune, plus a bit of extra torque, for 250 more. 300 for just the booster seems a bit pricey for what appears to be a signal remap

I'd agree with that. Now if it was the N51, that's a totally different story because you can get it to the high output 330i numbers since it already has that 3 stage intake.
