VMR Increased Offset Question
Can I increase the offset of VMR 710 wheels from et45 to et50 by having the hubs shaved?
Would this impact the structural integrity of the wheel? Can this be done without removing the tires from the rims? Last edited by HUGMEE; 05-02-2016 at 08:56 AM.. Reason: More detail |

As the manufacturer, I wouldn't recommend removing any material from the backpad of the wheel. You would be taking away the material that your lug bolts are fitted to.

Do you offer et50 wheels? Are they made with a different material? Would removing 5mm of material with a lathe or something be different than a casting with 5mm less?

We do offer the V710 in an ET50. They are made using the same process and materials, however, the mold is different to create the ET50.

I had considered having my wheels shaved and decided not to risk it. I later changed brake hubs to gain around 8mm of improved offset.

Good to know this is an option! What hubs did you swap your OEM ones with?
