Re-11
Is there anyone with feed back on the new re-11...
Im running Nitto invo right now, but need to step up the traction with something better for track use, while still able to run on the street. |

We're nearing completion on our track and road testing on this tire but it's not yet avialable to read online. We should have the report up soon.
It's a very impressive tire wet, dry and for just cruising on the street. It has outstanding grip levels and it was very fun to drive while testing. It will wear fast, like the real sticky ones do, but you'll smile the whole way.

No direct experience but I met someone who is a member on this forum who replaced his stock RFT's with the RE-11's. They are soft to the touch. He also noted that it added 1L/100kms to his fuel consumption because they are so sticky.

Ya, that's the only place I've ever found it. Great mag, I should subscribe.
Also check tirerack.com in the near future. I believe they have their own test results coming soon! |

The Kumho's were a lot more impressive on dry roads than wet.

They are not in that same performance category. That's why they won't be tested against these Extreme Performance Summer tires.

If you had to pick between RE-11 or star specs for autocross gill what would you choose?
Also, how long do tires last before they are redesigned? will Dunlop be coming out with a star spec killer anytime soon?

I would choose the RE-11. It did perform better. Not a lot better, but better.

I agree with Gill on this one. The RE-11 would be my choice over the Star Specs, but my personal favorite of this category would be the Yokohama Neova AD08's
I have them on my car, as well as our 1 series, AND our VF Supercharged E92 M3, and we're all smiling here as well. |

I was very tempted to try the AD08's as well but decided to go with the RE-11's for there supposedly longer life and better wearing. Maybe next time I'll give them a go. From the reviews turn in response is very crisp on them.

Turn response is excellent to be honest. Grip levels are all around the same, treadwear is all around the same too, but I really like how the AD08 really responded once you start getting a bit more aggressive with them. Once you loose grip during a turn with the AD08's it was so manageable to get back in check. The RE-11's did well on that too, I just felt they weren't as manageable as the AD08 in that category.
