DIY Shadowline Kidney Grill install

Dumb question here. Has anyone installed these using the DIY video on this forum, where you just pop the clips and pull the grill out? I'm not too sure if the OEM grill install is different from after market.

yep. I've done it.

What they don't say is how you need to pull the top section of your bumper (the kidney grill surround) out far enough to expose the top clips on the grills to release them. This is the reason why you remove the rubber gasket material in step 1.

Once you get over the fact that you have to pull that part out that far (it won't break if you do it slowly) the install is a piece of cake.

You dont even have to pull on the top section of the bumper very far if you have another pick tool or just something smaller than your fingers (screwdriver even) to just get behind and push on the top of the clips a little.

As long as your applying a little force of pulling the grill out when your doing it, it really is very easy. Look at the DIY in this section, it has a lot of good pictures
