Remove Automatic Shifter
As the title says, I need to know how to remove the Auto Shifter to remove the Center Console. I have searched, but only found the Manual Shifter removal.
Would appreciate the help!! |

Put the shifter in D position.
Make sure engine os turned off. Pull up really hard and fast. Make sure you don't knock yourself out.....because the shifter knob will release very suddenly when the right amount of upward pressure is reached. If memory serves me......I rested my wrists on the console and kind of wiggled the knob while pushing upwards from the bottom side of the knob. It takes a surprising amount of force to dislodge it. But there are no screws or other devices holding it on. Just a pressure fit. If you are edgy about doing this, send me a PM as I am local in Mississauga and can help you out. I have the performance knob on mine. (hmmmm....somehow that came out wrong) |

Thank Ilma.
Yea I was in a hurry so I put it in N ( just so that if, and if it popped out hard, it wouldn't hit the mirror ), put the parking break on, squeezed the Lever, screamed a little and it popped out. Can't imagine how many people might have chipped a tooth on that thing coming up. |
