2010 135i Underseat subwoofers.
I have removed the enclosures for my bmw 1 series 8" subs out from under the seat. I am confused on how they are supposed to come out so I can install after market subs. It seems to be glued or something but I would rather not break the enclosure if possible.

Looks like the housing is screwed on. The subwoofer itself i'm unsure of. These woofers have to be completely custom right? Seems to me they would have to be REALLY shallow.

I already have the enclosure out but I cannot figure out how to get the subs out of it. They appears glued in but I do not feel like breaking the enclosure itself. Any ides? Yes, they are just over 2" deep but I got a new set of factory replacements with 150 W RMS from earthquake which appears to be what everyone is using for under the seat subs.

maybe it's designed to be one piece.

Not sure. I found them on a forum post for the hi-fi system. I have the non hifi but this is what I though it might look like. I think mine are only teh 6.5 in the 8" inclosures but they seem glued and i'm not sure of the best way to get the glue removed to get the factory ones out.

If the enclosure is the same size as the pre '10 models then just pry those out and install your new subs using some screws. Us the install information in the audio threads to install the new subs. Does your car have the wiring for the subs already in there? |

RPM, I am trying to pry them out. They look to be the stock 6.5" but its the same enclosure as the 8". I am trying to pry them loose but there seems to be a bit of glue and I haven't figured out how to break the glue without killing the sub enclosures. I will just mount with some screws once I get the old one out.

A sharpened putty knife may be handy. A regular knife may also help break the seal but be careful with it. You are trying to get to the "pop". If you get one edge started you are probably about done.
