Static noise coming from speakers...

Hey, I just bought an 128i and noticed today a static/interference noise coming from the speakers.. When I open to door to enter in the car, the noise is there even though the radio and car is off... it lasts 2 minutes then stops.. I run some music then turn it off and the sound is back and lasts 2 mins then stops...

Is it normal? anybody experienced the same problem?

Thanks

Completely normal. The chime runs through the stereo (seatbelt warning, lights on, door open with key in the ignition, etc.)

You might need a software update. Most of the "early" '08 & '09's had this problem. Static in teh speakers before starting the car or having the radio on. DO a search. You will see.

IF you are talking about the GONG... then yes all cars will do that - with the key in the slot.

Ohhh... does it sound like a fax machine warming up? Or a laser printer? That sound is normal. Mine does it too.

Search the threads. This has happened to a few people, including myself. No it's not normal, but been unable to diagnose it since it's so random.

Static coming from the back speakers

I have had this same exact problem. My car is a 2009 135i and after I had shipped it from Europe last month when I opened the door on this end I got this loud static sound coming from the rear speakers. I cycled the door locks a couple of times and started the car then shut it off. After that it stopped and I have not been able to reproduce it. My first suspicion is a software glitch related to the BMW Assist system. Do you happen to have BMW Assist on your car?

The noise is definitely not normal. I had something similar happen in my car. Started on a very hot day. Took it to the dealer and they said it had to do with the bluetooth system. Lots of static, even with the car turned off. Music sounded awful and distorted. I thought it was the amp. They replaced some module (forget which) under warranty, and it's been good as new ever since.

Same happened to me as well. It is at the dealer getting 'fixed' (along with the belt tensioner recall).

My car did that from day one too. They said the bluetooth module needed replacement, I believe it was because they forgot to activate the BMW Assist. Anyway after they replaced the bluetooth module the static noise went away.

I have a '12 as well. Thought I heard a couple scratches and pops right after a I bought it, but it stopped and I haven't heard anything unusual since.

Mine doen't sound like static, but is more like eeeeeeeeeeeeee....pop...eeeeeeeeeeeeee...pop...eee eee...etc

It sounds even louder now that I put an amplifier in. Very annoying so I will ask them to check the blue tooth module next time it is in for service.

I wonder if a pre-amp filter would elimate the "noise"

Some people claim that this works... I would like BMW to spend their money to fix it, not mine

I tried everything to try to remove the "noise" but nothing seems to work. I double checked all my wires, ground, and power cables and I cannot get it to improve at all. It is either coming from my XD600/6 amp (which I highly doubt), or the Head Unit.

The "noise" is present when I open the doors and also when the engine is on. It also does not change tone.
