Project OZ - 2011 135i DCT M-Sport LMB
Hi everyone,
I've been a lurker here over the last two months and finally picked up a 135i. Thought you would like to see a few snaps. I just moved back to the U.S. and bought the car over the phone after seeing it on the web about 6 weeks ago. I was looking at higher end sports models of the 1 and 3 - 35 with under 20k miles. Cars with these specs are hard to find because these cars tend to be special order and/or leased for the first two or three years. Anyways I came across a 2011 135i DCT in LeMans Blue with 11k miles. The only features it doesn't have are iDrive and comfort access. it's got black/aluminium interior. So after deciding to buy this car I really began to look through 1Addicts and started ordering mods. I've added the following items (durring the first 2 days of getting the car) Performance
Appearance
Still to come

Congrats on the car! It looks beautiful and you already have a great mod list lined up
Any rim ideas in mind? I know you said CSL style, but there are many brands out there for the 1er.

There are lots of options out there! I ran Breyton GTS-R rims for a couple years. They're about $300 each, and their biggest advantage is that they come in the exact same size as the stock 135i wheels, making the transition easy. They also come in a variety of finishes and are light at about 18 lbs for 18" x 8.5". Only downside is that a lot of people want bigger/wider wheels to handle the power that the car makes, and they're not available bigger / wider.
Alufelgen and VMR are also great companies making csl style rims for around the same price. They come in bigger sizes, but I haven't had any so I can't comment on the weight, finishes available, or anything like that. But everyone on here loves them as well. They're a little newer to the market than Bretton as well, but these are the big 3 CSL rep companies around for 1ers. I think alufelgen is a little more expensive than VMR, but they're both great wheels. If you want a little on the cheaper side, Beyern makes mesh style wheels which are similar, but I forget if they make CSL reps or not. Those cost a little closer to 250 each and are good quality. Drag also makes rims similar to CSLs which are dirt cheap, but obviously lacking in quality compared to the above brands. However, I'm currently running them in 17" as my winter rims and they've held up well. And then there's the big boys.. HRE, BBS, forgestar etc. More exensive, but they tend to be forged not cast, and BBS is an OEM manufacturer for BMW wheels and are great quality. VMR and Alufelgen are here on the forum as vendors and you can contact them here. Breytons are from Germany and sold in the US exlusively through tirerack.com, and Gill of tirerack is a sponsor here on the forum. Drag and Beyerns are sold through discounttiredirect.com, and others as well. The espensive guys... Look at WSTO (wheelsto.com), or at each brands website. You have a beautiful looking car! Hope this helps you match it up with some great wheels.

Thanks for the great advice on the wheels. I'm thinking i'll go VMS but just had to buy a car for the wife (2011 VW GTI 4 Door) so might be a month or two before I order.
