Dealer configurable options/settings at time of delivery
Let's put together a list of the settings that a dealer can configure for the 1-series owner, and what the respective options are, so that when we take delivery we can make specific requests. This list may be longer for the non-iDrive vehicles.
That I recall reading about so far: 1. Number of flashes from a soft-press on the turn signal lever (1,2,3,4) 2. Door lock and alarm feedback when remote pressed (horn, lights flash) 3. Window behavior with remote (open w/ unlock, close w/ lock) 4. ???Sunroof behavior with remote (open w/ unlock, close w/ lock) ??? 5. External mirror behavior with remote (open w/ unlock, fold w/ lock) More?

The problem with this thread is most options like this are user configured and not BMW Center programmed anymore
1. Set by the user inside the car. Choices are 1 flash or 3. 2. There is no horn so it's not configureable. Lights can flash or not (I think) 3. Windows will open if the unlock button is held down, there is no close with lock feature 4. Not programmable 5. not programmable that I'm aware 6. DRL's can be switched on or turned off at the users convenience. Let me know if this helps. Ty |

So Ty, there are now no options that are dealer programmed? And do you know, offhand, which additional owner programming choices are available if one orders the Nav./I-Drive?
Thanks, Tom |

Coming from previous MINI delivery, there were many options or configs that were done by dealer. After looking at the 1 series manual (borrowed from dealer demo) I found they are now done by owner..

some more user configurables. with or without i-drive
1. seat memory for separate keys 2. auto locks/relock 3. pathway lighting duration 4. selective unlocking (whether you want just the drivers to unlock or all doors to unlock) i think with i-drive you can set sensitive of the auto headlights. all cars come with convenience opening (windows and sunroof open with a hard press of the remote) if you want this deactivated you will need your dealer to do this. dealers should be able to raise the speed limiter of vehicles with 17" wheels. a programming retrofit should be available. |
