I do believe that if it were not for the classic M1 the 135i would be the M1. It has pretty much everything an ///M car would have at this level and obviously has ///M badged parts already.
That being said, I would NEVER put an ///M badge on a car that did not come with one. Would I put ///M badged parts on this car like the door sills, YES! My cars are always badgeless anyhow:biggrin:

hey so im new to this forum, im buying a 135i but not till December because thats when i turn 23 but i agree with everyone.. i would not put ///M badging on my 135i..
Like everyone knows the 135i is the closest thing to an ///M series but bc of the fact theres an ///M1 already there's no point and its a BMW, the point being is the 135i is still not well known to the society and not seen much.. the 135i already has the steering wheel w/ ///M badging and as well as the shift knob and door sills.. that should be enough.. honestly id debadge my 135i just for those who dont know about the incredible car when i win the race theyd be in shock because they wouldnt know what they lost to all they would know is a BMW.. =) |

There was a guy on Bimmerfest who actually put an M badge on his 135i because he insisted that he had done enough mods to deserve it. The more he tried to defend it, the sadder it all seemed. Putting an M badge on your car is like giving yourself a medal. It says a lot more about the driver than the car and not in a good way.

No ///M badge on my 135i.
However, I own two e30 M3. I must say that the 135i is the very close thing to a real M3 and I will not be surprise to see an M version of this model. Just picked up my 135i in Munich, drove it around the "ring" 4 times and the autoban. The 1 performance was unbelivable in handling and speed. So, My new 135is is an [ M1 4 ME ]. Well.. I must agree with the general consensus... and I'm an old guy who's ALWAYS lusted after the M -- but could never justify. My 135 with the Sport Package was new last week ...and was debadged on its first night home ... frankly ... I'm not even very fond of the M badging on the gear knob and the steering wheel... but .. wow .. do I love this car!

be proud of what you have. a 135i is one hell of a ride and in a class of it's own. ///m badge is perpetrating.
