1M KW DDC coil overs installed
We recently installed a set of KW DDC coil overs to a 1M which is different as the DDC kit allows you to control the damper settings via an app on your Iphone rather than manual adjustable for bump and rebound. The kit comes with everything required, the wiring, the wireless module and of course the shocks and springs. The shock/spring set up is different to the stock V3's and are stand alone, so stock V3's are not upgradable. The wiring takes some time to install over a normal V3 set up but the pairing is straight forward. The kit also comes with a manual button mounted in the cabin which is needed if you cant get a connection or are unable to use your phone to change the settings. The settings are Comfort (like a standard setup) Sport, then Sport plus which is very very firm when driving on a normal road.
We also installed Blackline tail lights and Black side grilles and as this car is new, the white on black look was so vivid, especially with the black wheels, it became the Stormtrooper 1M. Here are some images of the install, Black line lights installed, And here is a video of the 1M |

Nice Andrew.
I think the iPhone app bit is ott but otherwise it looks as if this will effectively offer some of the benefits the M3 with its adjustable damper settings. Good for those who want some track time but don't want a compromising setup for a day to day proposition |

Reposting this recent review from Turner Motorsport http://www.bimmerfest.com/news/64418...r-for-e9x-m3s/
John, i find the advance screen the most useful. Having a sweet spot between comfort and sports is much easier now via the app Thanks Patrick You can still sell your v3 |

What's the weight of the kit? May be it is a very good solution between a setup for highway, 1 for b road and 1 for track. I like the separate rebound and compression settings.

Had a 1M in the shop today with the same system.
Funny but the owner was not that fussed, his comments were i thought it would have been better. This chap is into track days so does understand settings and shock performance i guess there may be some compromise with track and street but the sky is the limit when it comes to suspension components and set up. But to be able to change damper settings from inside the car while driving is a good thing, not new as we were fitting this sort of system back in the 90s buy a famous Jap company called TEIN the EDFC system had up to 20 different settings for different race tracks +++ typical jap stuff was just fantastic. Great to see that KW are on the way |
