Cut price M3 - 1m pricing almost
M3 FOR 1M pricing - BMW slashes price for stripper version
BMW has wound the clock back 20 years by slashing the price of its M3 coupe and cutting luxury features from the car. M3 pricing now starts at $125,000 plus additional costs for the Pure Coupe, well less than the $155,100 required for the regular two-door M3. Just when the C63 was firming up as the next car......hmmmm http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/m...118-2cx3g.html Last edited by 1BimmerNut; 01-17-2013 at 11:32 PM.. |

Why buy that when the new generation M3 is coming soon? I think it's a ridiculous idea of BMW to bring out this idea.

The coupe Rob is 18 months 2 years away, and you dreaming if you think the new one will be less than $160k. Great car at a great price IMHO, but I am glad I sold my '08 car last year.

Thanks John I didn't realise it was that far away from hitting Australian shores because I've been reading some reports with speculations of it having a bi-turbo or tri-burbo with about 450hp. Having read the reports and motor journalist insights I have always thought it was only about a year away from release (2014).
100% it won't be under $160k. Hands down the E92 M3 has always been crowd pleaser and the one to have especially in comparison to the barbaric C63 that can't even stay in a straight line on the track whereas the M3 handles it with ease. Undoubtedbly the M3 IMO has always been a sublime track car when it comes to performance handling and engineering at a decent price tag in comparison to say the Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 |

so it's cut down to ALMOST a regular 3er with the V8 in it (and all the other M bits of course, suspension/subframe etc.)? that's fair enough i think, awesome price!
ED: the E36 M3 cost $124,650 when it was introduced in 1994. wow the E36 M3 was VERY expensive i haven't worked it out, but counting inflation, this M3 is much MUCH cheaper than the E36. ED: on second thoughts... CD stacker (who the hell uses them?).. acceptable stereo.. heated seats (useless), adaptive headlights (can live without)... i'm not okay with no leather interior lol but .. $30k just for those things? that's incredibly expensive...' on the other hand, they raised the price for the E46 CSL, this is SORTA a similar thing with a $30k drop. and when they say 'no keyless entry' they don't mean 'remote central locking' right? but CA? most of the people commenting seem to think they're removing the remote central locking lol. and i didn't know the M3 had anti dazzle SIDE mirrors as well, damnnn Last edited by flinchy; 01-18-2013 at 03:04 AM.. |

I wonder whether this is actually a new story? The Pure Edition and Pure Edition II have already been released, and driveaway pricing (GST, LCT and Dealer Delivery) was quite a bit more. Not sure if the Disclaimer underneath the Carsales editorial is correct...

Yes, but would you trade in your 1M for it? I spent the day driving M3s at Eastern Creek during the BMW training course and thought my 1M felt great when I climbed back into it. Great cars, but no desire to replace the 1M with an M3.

If you want to look at inflation, you are right. However, most other BMWs and makes prices haven't moved much for the past 20 years in absolute $ terms. The E92 M3 was the exception.

don't understand why BMW would want to ruin its used car values.
not good news for current (not Pure Edition) M3 owners. by the time a good looking M4 arrives in a couple of years time, a 2yo ($120k + on costs) 2013 M3 may fetch $100ish? how much would a $150 (+on costs) 2012, 2011 etc fetch? Let's look for a good value low mileage 2yo E92M3 daily driver then. |
