FYI: Removing Thin Plastidip
When I did my window trim in black plastidip I thought I put on enough coats, but I guess I didn't. It isn't coming off in big chunks and it's worse when its cold.
I'm a little chicken to try plastidip liquifier, Goo-gone, paint thinner, WD-40 because of the damage it could do to the adhesive, rubber seals, etc so I needed a new plan. I had started just rubbing it with my nails/finger/microfiber to get it to roll but damn is that an arduous process. To get a really clean edge to pull and/or get little stubborn bits off without scratching I decided to use a wooden cuticle tool. Yes, the kind that a nail salon would use. The wood is soft enough to not scratch the chrome trim, but picks up the edge of the plastidip really well. It still will take me a while to take it all off, but at least there is an end in sight.

Also, I don't want to re-wax my door panels after doing it, since I just spent 6 hours doing that on Sunday...

Spray on some more, no need to worry about it being sloppy, once it dries peel it all off.
After damaging mine with an ice scraper last winter I removed all of it in less than 5 mins. |

Even though the current stuff has been on there for a year? Will it really still stick to itself that well?

Update: Tried the Goo Gone spray gel. Saturate a paper towel, wipe a coat on the plastidip, let sit for a minute, rub off. Comes off really easily! Thanks!
