LOL, are you sure it wasn't snowing?

You are aware thats a common practice photo shoot technique? Reflections make a purty shot.
Hopefully you're just foolin around.

Easy to find a water spot to take a nice picture... It does not mean the track was in that condition when they tested the car...

Give it up. That is not a part of the track! Did you even watch the videos I was nice enough to link? The track was 'moist' as they stated. No POURING rain, category 4 hurricane, monsoon conditions to speak of. Besides, the M3 still beat the RS4 in the "not-dry" track conditions! Focus on that!

Actual track conditions:

The other thing I notice about the videos is that the E92 M3 didn't even have the wipers on.

Exactly. But to be honest the test for the M3 track was more 'wet', however, in the 1M test it had just started to rain and we all know what the road can be like before the rain has a chance to wash off the debris. JC described the track in the 1M test as "greasy".

Maybe the M3 encountered freezing rain on the track!

Are you serious? That, sir, is termed a puddle. Look in the background, the road is dry.

What a great clip... and a great car.

When Clarkson likes something, it makes for an extra entertaining review IMO.

Man, you guys just can't take a joke. If you've watched most of the episodes, you'll notice that the power lap times are hardly ever done at the time of the review or even with the same car used for the review. Everybody is getting all bent out of shape over a few tenths of a second that don't really matter in the real world. What it does show is that the 1M is just as capable as the M3.

Jeremy Clarkson on the 1M

"Honestly, I haven't driven anything this perfect, well, since the original Golf GTI"

Wow, Clarkson likes this car, he really likes it!

Is this the episode you're looking for. I initially received a malware message, but I think it's because it's a video hosting site. At about 17:20 mins is when the 1M kicks ass.

1M on order

I've ordered a VO 1M and am curious how long people that have ordered one have waited for delivery - the dealer is telling me Feb/Mar next year. I only placed the order a month ago and as you can imagine can't wait to get it!!!

I ordered a month ago too (also in Brisbane), and spoke to the sales guys on Friday again and the initial Jan/Feb delivery during the phone conversation when I was searching for a car turned into a Feb/March when I signed the papers, now I've been told an early 2012 build, with another 12-14 weeks for delivery. I was also told I was first on their list for the new allocations, so I don't expect to see it until March/April/May.

I guess the Australian build and deliveries have been pushed out to allow for the US production and delivery before the end of 2011.

Also waiting for a VO......

Thanks for the response, can't wait to get it. I've gone for the comfort access as an option, not sure that I really need it but who cares, happy that the car comes with a good spec - does anyone that already has one care to comment on the Hardan Karman stereo, curious to know whether it's any good in the 1M?
