Just got a very cool book in the mail. A "year one of the 1" hardcover book from BMW.

It's a commemorative book with a certificate and VIN plate of our car. Very cool collectors item!

Why didn't we get anything this cool with the E60 we bought last year?

Just curious, has anyone received the book without having custom ordered? I was lucky enough to find one on the lot that was perfect for me, but I'm concerned that I won't get the book now.

I bought one off the lot in May and received mine a couple weeks ago. I got the welcome DVDs a couple days before getting the book.

You don't have to custom order in order to receive the book. As long as it is a 2008.

I leased my 1 because of the good deal I got with plans of buying at the end, will I still receive a book/certificate?

How long is this supposed to take? I picked up my car June 2nd and I haven't gotten the book or the welcome kit yet. In fact, I've gotten nothing from BMW. Perhaps they have my wrong address? Should I complain to my dealer or wait some more?

I got my car May 6th. I received the welcome kit sometime in mid July and I haven't received the book yet. The whole time I've been monitoring this thread I haven't picked up on any pattern as to who gets the books when. So I wouldn't worry about it just yet. If you haven't gotten the welcome kit by the end of the month, you might just want to talk to your dealer to make sure it's coming.

Granted now that the '09s are coming soon, I believe once the factory resumes production after their August vacation, I hope they continue send the books to us '08 buyers.

hmm, I'm moving in a little over a week, and since it seems like the book is sent 3rd class mail I don't think it will be forwarded to my new address.

I took delivery in May and still don't have my book. I did get the welcome kit over a month ago. Waiting stinks!!

I ordered very early, took PDC on March 23 and still have not received the Commemorative Book. I called my MA two days ago, he checked on things and said he was able to get me added to the list. I should get the CB soon.

I emailed him back asking why I wasn't on the list from the beginning! No reply as yet. I would really like to know who I could call or email to get to the bottom of this. Any of you dealer reps out there that might shed some light on this? Looks to me if I ordered the car they would have me on the list from word go. You think someone dropped the ball?
