BMW CCA Golden Gate Chapter car control and autox - Oct 16/17
Alright 1addicts, the next Golden Gate Chapter BMW CCA is having a back-to-back Car Control Clinic and Autocross on the October 16-17 weekend. You can go to either one or go to both.
The Car Control Clinic is a day-long event that consists of three low-speed exercises - a skid pad, a slalom course, and a braking and accident avoidance simulation - all with instruction. These exercises will better prepare you for situations on the track, as well as in everyday driving. Then you can put those new found skills to use that the autocross the next day. Autocross is a low speed (usually top speed is 60-70mph) event where cones are set up as a course and you drive through the course as fast as you can. You get 7 or 8 runs through the course. Where else can you drive at the limit in a safe environment? You can even spin and not even worry about hitting anything (other than some poor, unsuspecting small orange cones). It is being held in Marina (about an hour drive from San Jose). Registration is open and about 30 spots are still left as of today (Sept 28). Click here for general info on our BMW Autocrosses Click here to register for any of the club's open events Don't worry if you have never autoxed before. We have experienced autoxers who will coach you and give you some help. We are very friendly and open to first timers. So come out and see some nice BMWs, talk to some bimmerheads and see what your car is capable of in a safe environment. Hope to see a few new faces out there. -Matt |

nice! I have seen several 135i at the autox but I think yours will be the first 128i. Can't wait to see it in action.
I think there are about a dozen spots still left. Registration is open until noon on Wed for anyone else who wants to sign up. |
