Dash Cam Wiring

Hi all,

I've recently bought a 1 series and a dash cam and I would like to add one to the other. The cam comes with a 12v socket power source but I'm looking to wire it in. Are there any easy or simple places to hard wire it?

The best option is to wire it directly to the fuse box behind the glovebox. Pick up an add-a-fuse and connect to an accessory socket or something else that only gets power when the car is on.

You can use fuse #83 for always-on with a medium size add-a-fuse or fuse #08 with a mini add-a-fuse for only when the car is on.
