So i started the car today
Filled the coolant and did the priming sequence to fill the system. Then i filled the oil and primed the turbos. It started up great. there was a lot of white smoke from the exhaust at first. I assume that was just some of the residue from the valve cleaner i used, It when away in a few minutes. I backed the car out of the garage and let it idle for about 20 minutes with no leaks or other issues. But then it all went wrong I gave it a little shot of gas while driving back into the garage and i got lots of misfires and the engine was running really bad and shaking. Now it won't even idle without misfires and shaking. Not sure what to do next... Last edited by mccandless; 04-07-2019 at 10:50 AM.. |

Thru much web surfing i figured it out, such a simple fix. All i had to do was clean the vanos solenoids. Two bolts and 20 minutes and it's done. Maybe after cleaning the valves a bit of carbon got stuck in one of the holes.
Runs great now, no codes and no wastegate rattle . Too bad it's snowing here today, i really wanna go for a drive. Last edited by mccandless; 04-09-2019 at 06:51 AM.. |

Gotta love a man who posts his solutions to problems on the forums! Glad to see this project came together with only one slight hiccup, Happy Turbo Tuesday!

I don't know wether to curse you or thank you. You inspired me to tackle mine. After many face fulls of dirt, rust and coolant I'm about to remove my turbos this morning. Please tell me putting it all back together is much easier because so far it's been a huge pain in the ass.
