1M as Daily Driver?

So I'm looking at buying a 1M.
However this will be my daily driver.

Anyone else DD theirs?
Would be blasphemous?

Lol

Interested to hear your thoughts.

Driven mine just about everyday since purchase. Currently 25k miles. Why wouldn't you drive it as often as possible?

20.77 MPG(UK)
17.3 MPG (US)

Good to hear guys.
I was told that it wouldn't be a good idea because it was "Limited Edition"
Blah blah blah

I think that was the purpose of the 1M, to be a DD, not just a weekend sports car. Otherwise why does it have four seats and a big boot?

Yes I do

Drive it, enjoy it, sell it and buy another car when you're done with it

It's just a car

29,000+ miles daily driver and track car.

Buy cars because you enjoy driving them and will use them for their intended purpose, not as an investment!

+1 for DD.

For a weekend car I can actually think of choices I'd rather have (GT3, etc). For a DD I can't think of anything I'd rather use, regardless of price, honestly.

As does my 135i!
I'm still not 100% why I want to switch.

I may still need some convincing to "upgrade" lol

Lots of 1M owners are former 135i owners, none that I know of regret their upgrade. I find the 1M easier to drive around the city compared to my old E90 330i with M Sport Pack and manual gear.

I was still doubting whether I spent $ to buy yet-another-same-car

i wasn't convinced until I pressed the Start button in Welt.

Mine is my daily. Currently on 36,000 miles and counting. Planning a road trip around Spain and Portugal this summer. Great car that livens up every journey.

Daily driver. Got two other cars, but use those abroad. So cannot drive the 1M every day, but it's the one I always use over here.

Earlier today at traffic lights an older pedestrian crosses the street, stops in the middle, gives me the thumbs up with an approving nod, whilst saying "belle voiture" ("nice car") and moves on. Will never happen when I drive my other cars.

Same here daily driver except when it rains. I have an old clunker that I drive in the rain. I live in San Diego and people drive like idiots in the rain. Also since we have long stretches with no rain the roads are extra slick for the first day and we have bad potholes everywhere. Otherwise it's my daily and even have a Recaro booster seat for my kid. She loves "car-y". The first few months the kids would take turns pushing the starter button to listen to the morning roar from the beast. I usually have a kid in the car and drive like and old lady but that is the magic of the 1M. It involves all your senses with super quick steering, fantastic brakes, firm ride, great exhaust sound and torque so it feels fast and exciting at legal speeds everyday. A lot of the cushier rides you have to push them beyond legal for the sensation of speed. The only drawback to daily driving is that you are always aware that you are in something pretty special and parking is a burden for me. I hunt for safe parking spots and I admit sometimes I feel relief driving the clunker because I don't worry about it and just park it anywhere.

17,000+ miles in 2 years as a DD. I commute via bus to work so that keeps the mileage lower but I use it for everything else including tracking, hauling my bike on a hitch rack, even loaded a half dozen bags of mulch in it last week.

Oh...and you'll get a lot of stares and people complimenting the car at gas stations, stop lights, etc... That might slow your commute down a bit.

Why wouldn't you DD it? That's the point of this car and most BMWs in general. A sporty car you can use everyday.
