Broken flex disc "guibo" on drive shaft

Have been hearing a staling noise / vibration on tranny on the car lately. Pulled the car on a elevating to find out my flex disc was broken in pieces. part # 26117610061.

This is what it should look like

The part was never registered on BMW Brasil meaning it never got broken on another car here before, weird... I'm assuming the car has too much torque + clutchmasters stage 3. has anyone had that problem before?

Funny thing is the dealer lists the same part number but looks different is all rubber instead of aluminum cover. was this part only released on 1m cars?

version I found at dealer with same part number

Any time I've seen a guibo/flex disk on a BMW, it looks like the 2nd image you posted, not the 1st. Don't know if that helps you at all.

If you check your car you will see one similar to pic #1.... Not sure if 1M is the only bmw that has that version.

not a surprising outcome. I assume you have major hp mods.

Never seen a guibo that looks like the first pic on a BMW. Looking at REALOEM the pic looks identical to the second one which matches every other BMW guibo I'm familiar with.

I'm not necessarily right, just saying.

Agree... I have only seen a guibo mostly made of rubber but it sure seems that with all the torque in the turbo motors that an upgrade of some sort is due. And it wouldnt be a surprise to see this on an M motor compared to some of the other turbo motors.

if that pic at top is correct.. it looks like they switched to more metal for strength? dunno.

The pic on top is correct. I have pics of my broken guibo.

That's very odd. Looking the part number up, 26117610061, on several different parts depots shows the second image. No where can I even find an image that resembles the first..

I can confirm my 1M has definitely the aluminium-type (pic#1).
I am assuming the full rubber one, very commun on most cars, is not appropriate for such a high torque.
i would as well appreciate a picture of the brocken part: did you broke the aluminium ring ? Or the rubber mounts ?

Mine (old part) was OEM, at least came with the car brand new from dealer. Maybe they sorted different manufactures on the production of the 1M. It seems that the aluminum version was a "lighter" version.

well very interesting because the part number is even different from M3 version.

Your part number should be like 135i 26117610061

This is really strange. I've never heard of BMW installing different guibo's in different parts of the world. It's starting to sound like that's what happened though?

I'll be changing my oil this weekend and am going to have to check what's under my car now.

135is also has a metal flex disc apparently. It's been a few years, so, it's probably a stretch, but how has the rubber flex disc done for you? I have a 135is and I'm in America. As far as I know, this car has never left the bay area.

Just to let you know it is a revised part. My car had it replaced as a recall. I asked at the time if it was just being swapped for a new flexi or an upgraded one and was informed that it is a revised stronger part.
