Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser - DIY?
I just received a new CF rear diffuser. I was searching the forum to determine if this is a DIY job (could not find anything helpful) or am I better off going to a local shop to have it done. I know there are 4 plastic rivets that hold in in place. What is the best way to remove the old rivets?. It seems simple enough, but I will defer to the guys who have already done it.

The best way to remove the plastic rivets is by snipping them from above. Once those are out, there is still quite a bit of tugging and cursing to get the plastic clips (part of the diffuser) to detach from the corresponding slots in the bumper. Eventually the diffuser will cede and you will be victor. |

Decided to change rear diffuser as Presidents Day project. Is a rear diffuser a DIY project? Answer, yes & no. I had a tough time getting the existing diffuser of . A real PITA. I ended up going to a friend house to install the new CF one as you really need another set of hands. If that friend has a lift, even better!
With another set of hands, Install was 10 minutes. It came out very good. Fit & finish perfect. It is better than that slab of gray plastic IMHO. |

It was overcast when I took the picture. Looks more pronounced in the sun. I purchased on a Black Friday sale & saved a bunch. If considering, wait for a sale. |
