I was also gonna mention this too besides the seats looking identical to M3 seats. Steering wheel/gauge cluster is M. Case closed. This is an M1.

Did the ZSDrive35is get new seats? No. 335is? No.

I don't want to get caught up in the naming of the thing--there are about 10 threads on it already, but I think anything with "135" in the name wouldn't distinguish the car enough, and would be a mistake.

BMW looks to be giving this car the full ///M treatment--don't go dumb on the name.....

My $.02....

I think they eat this up at marketing. This is buzz, brand awareness, free press they hope for.

It will be called 1 ///M Sport

No it won't! In Europe, we already use the M Sport name on virtually every BMW model, so too much confusion there.

Anyway there's another thread for this..........

How about contributing something of importance other than: I see it as being passionate.
It's nice to see people arguing something one way or the other rather than pointing there nose up at those willing to get dirty if you catch my drift.

And, yes the M1 has M3 seats, but I want lighter seats than these. At least BMW Performance seats in M style stiching and M logo.
I'm just gonna order a set of e46 CSL seats

Exactly what I was thinking . If you really just step back and look at it (not to mention what Scott has told us) this is going to be an M car. Whether its called M1 or 1M or M whatever its going to be //M

I guess its a good thing im not married yet

I've posted on several occasions, but the same discussions keep coming back up. Such as, "this will only be an iS" or "this will not be an M car because it does not have quads". I suppose I got tired of explaining how this will be an M car due to the hints we've seen and/or heard from Scott, and the exhaust argument has gotten pretty ridiculous at this point. That's why these threads have turned almost comical for me. I don't see how that's pointing my nose up.

call it this for the full production run from early 2011 through the last of the line in mid-2012

And then it can be a play on the end of the world that M is working with turbos instead of N/A

enough already...I wanna know how many are going to trade in their current 1er for the new ///M. I'm already doing the math...and when the numbers won't match...going back for another beer and re-calculating!

Doesn't make sense to change the naming regime we've got another thread for that - unless they are making this a 2012cc engine.

This car will be more Motorsport than the M5 E60 and M3 E90 ever was.
Just because it doesnīt have a n/a engine or quads doesnīt mean itīs not an M.

The N54/N55 is probably the greatest 3L turbo-engine ever produced so i canīt really see the problem if the M Division decides to modify one of those to their specifications. It can only get better

This car will handle better than anything made by the M-division, except the CSL/GTR.

The M Division makes the greatest cars on the planet. Why would they stop now?

SCOTT: There were talks about matte colors a few months ago and i remembered someone saying something about an Sepang Matte.
I was just wondering if you could confirm if this paint will be avaliable?

God dammit guys,
use your heads, this is definitely gonna be the new ///M Coupe.
It makes perfect sense, as the old ///M Coupe (Z4M) is no longer in production and instead a Z5 3.5is.
The new ///M Coupe and hopefully ///M Roadster will be based off the current 1 series.
Expect more hp, more torque, more muscular styling, an ///M limited slip diff, ///M Suspension, and bigger brakes. Oh wait, all of that has been discovered to be on these test mules.
