static noises from using usb cable
I don't know if anyone else have experienced this but it sounds like there are more static noises or perhaps even a blown speaker somewhere when I use my iphone with the usb cable. The CD and even the radio doesn't produce those noises. I've checked my songs' quality and they are all above 128kbps, some 192, 320. Does anyone else have this feeling or am I just going crazy?
BTW I dunno if this helps but I only have the normal radio. No HD service. |

If you mean that you are using your iPhone like a drive with just a simple USB connection, then the signal is purely digital. Most likely your head unit is having issues decoding the information for some reason. This is unlikely.
If you mean, on the other hand, that you are using the black USB + Auxiliary cable that came with your car, that make more sense; Auxiliary is analog, thus a damaged cable would produce these static noises & artifacts in your sound. Drop by the dealership if you can and ask them if you can use one of their extra cables to see what's going on for yourself, and therefore isolate the problem.

similar issue from me...
my situation is a little different, but I thought my speakers were broken when it first happened. I inserted a MP3 CD and files with VBR (variable bitrate) have trouble being played thru the head unit. Files with constant bitrate, on the same CD has no problems playing through the speakers. I suspect this is a similar issue to what you are experiencing.

I am using the black Y usb&aux cable that the car came with. I wasn't aware that I could use the iPhone just like a flash drive and play it through only the USB which I will try later today.
I dunno much about sound qualities so I can say if thats the same problem or not with JC Jai's comment |

i'm using an ipod with a regular headphone cable connecting the headphone out of the ipod to the aux jack and i don't notice any static. i hear you get better sound if you use the bottom of the ipod instead of the headphone out, but i don't see how much better it coudl be.

found the problem
I finally found the problem and it was because of my stupidity. I had the aux port volume turned all the way up. I figured when I got the car that would somehow help the sound but it was just stupid. Anyways, thx for all the help guys.
