Hack the iDrive...

Hacking the idrive software... changing graphics, menu layout, etc. Anyone have any insights, links, etc? :biggrin:

I'm tech savvy and would love to help on such a project.

I'm talking out of turn, but I believe it's a Windows CE variant right ... if so, the way I have done it on CE based GPS systems in the past has been to install "File Manager" type applications into the Flash. Can't imagine it will be too easy without being able to install an executable on it.

I'm sure it could be done...

I know there are a few who have managed to hack it to be able to read Dvd/Video files etc

'08 iDrive is written mostly in Java on top of the VxWorks real time OS. It used to be on top of windows embedded.
