Factory Alarm Issue having no audible confirmation.

When I had my car delivered to me I made sure the dealership add the factory alarm. I suppose it works as they mentioned, but they said they cannot get the car to have the BMW audible confirmation beeps when arming and disarming since they do not yet have a software available (progman) that can add that feature yet. Is this true?

Does anyone out there have the factory BMW alarm installed and not able to get the audible confirmations yet? Please let me know if there is a fix or an updated software that I can relay to my local dealership.

Right now only the parking lights flash on and off when locking and unlocking.

My 650 came with an alarm standard and has the audible confirmation and can be turned off via the iDrive. I checked on my 135 iDrive, but did not have that option. This was the first place I checked.

The current software (v29.2) does not fully support the alarm system. Hopefully, this issue will be addressed in a program update in the future.

I have had the factory alarm installed at my dealer, and the audible 'chirp' works. The lights flash too. I can't seem to make the 'panic mode' kick in, however. This was done by my dealer about a month ago.

What does the car come with, without the BMW alarm? What do you tell your insurance company when they ask what type of alarm or security the car comes with?

It has a factory engine immobilizer. No one can hot wire the car, you need the fob to start it.

Late Feb, early March. When the car arrived on the 10th of April in Vancouver, they tried three different Alarm modules to try and make it work. When the car was delivered, the audible chirp didn't work, but the lights flashed and the alarm worked. I took it back a week later, by then they had upgraded software. Now the audible chirp works. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is panic mode.

They now have a fix for this issue? I have the alarm and I don't get the confirmation tones. Is the new latest software out?

Sorry, my bad. I meant my dealerships in the bay area have NO fix yet. I called Customer Relations and they are researching for me to find out from BMWNA if there is a fix or not. I will post when I get an answer by Friday.

Did you have to ask for the chirp? Or is it on by default...

The chirp should be standard - I assume it could be turned off as well.

If you have iDrive you should be able to enable and disable it like on my 6 series iDrive.

BMW Assist completely useless as a recovery system. When guy on e90post had his E92 stolen, he tried best to find the car, and nothing helped. Until after 3 weeks he got a call from tow Company. All that time the car collected dust at the parking lot 4 blocks from his house, until someone called the tow away.

Are you kidding me? $40k for this car and it doesn't even come with a basic alarm? I thought maybe it didn't have a chirp sound but still would have an alarm that sounded off. So how much will the alarm set us back? This really pisses me off

I guess up to now there is still no fix or software for 1 series alarms. A dealership in Fremont is even telling their customers to wait on adding alarm until BMW NA has the right software. If they try to tweak it or add the 3 series one, certain functions won't operated like panic mode. I guess we just have to wait til next year when there is an improved software release.
