128i base model interior lights

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and interested in buying a new 128i in the next month in Canada. I'm planning to go for a base model 128i with no options except for the heated steering wheel...I'm on a budget and wanted to limit my expense on the options...
I noticed that the lights package is optional...and is not included in the base car. And I know that map lights are included in the lights package...so without this, are there still lights in the inside of the car? Does anyone have a pic of this? I'm just wondering if there will be some lights still standard for the interior of the car....
Thanks

The '08 US manual (pp78~79) indicates that front interior and reading lamps are standard. Optional lights include footwell, entry and courtesy lamps, and rear interior and reading lamps.

So your 128i will have at least some interior lighting.

Hey Tom, thanks for the reply. Thats good to hear since I can't imagine BMW not including even a map light as standard on their car, even though its the base model!

I have a 128 with standard lighting. I don't miss the rest.

I would imagine that's the case, but he is buying in Canada and the specs are not necessarily the same as the US specs.

Mine has both front and rear interior and reading lamps. Not sure, the rear lamps probably came with the premium package?

I have the 128 without the lights pack, and you still have a couple led lights up by the map lights. The one odd thing that was pointed out to me by a passenger the other day, is that the vanity mirrors aren't illuminated.

At first I ignored the lack of lighting within the Vanity mirroes, but then I had to put one of my contacts back in during the night..... not so easy.

I do like the small orange LEDs near the front map lights so as your hand gets close to the switches the reflection off you hand allows you the see the switches better.

Do you have rear map lights but no lights for the mirrors in the sun visors?

I have lights for the mirrors - they're not in the visor, they're actually in the roof above the visor. I'm guessing if they're not standard they came with the premium package...

Same with my '08 'vert - on the headliner just above the visor. Seems to only come with the "Ambient Lighting" which is part of the Premium Package. Incidentally, they work work the igition off.
