Awaiting Transport
Your car gets loaded onto a train and is then driven to Bremerhaven, where it is unloaded and then has to wait for a ship. This is the painful part; you have no idea how many cars are ahead of yours in line to get on a ship, so you have to just keep hoping it doesn’t take too long. Mine took 8 days from production completion to getting on the ship.

Which has me thinking: given the huge inventories at ports like Bremerhaven ("Auto Sprawl"), I wonder if recently ordered cars will get to jump to the front of the line and get on the boat quickly? I mean, these cars are sold so nobody wants them clogging up the storage lots, right?

Another 1er in RI, cool! Mine didn't wait too long at port, I think 5 days if I remember correctly....and that was right at Christmas, so many even further delayed. When is your expected arrival and thru what dealer?

I'm trying to not bug my CA until it's time to find out what ship I'm on, so I don't know my expected delivery date. I purchased at Inskip and so far its been a great experience.

My car was "released to a carrier" last Thursday so I hope I'm on a train to Bremerhaven by now. I know it's just wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be great to go straight from train to ship? Just skip over all those "inventory" cars and load MY car!

My car got released Tuesday last week and I’m still waiting. Our cars may end up on the same ship.

Looks like there is a New York bound ship today, Thursday, and next Tuesday & Thursday as well. Where's the "fingers crossed" smiley?

Mine went to that step Thursday last week. When I see it change to on the boat, I should go bug my CA for my VIN number, and see which one its on. After seeing the cam view of the port, I got depressed at all the cars, and the huge ships..., not knowing if my car was even there yet, or still on a train somewhere.

Space gray 135 checking in. My obsession is bordering on unhealthy. As of yesterday my status changed to waiting for transport. What are you all doing to pass the time? I can't seem to get off these boards.

DUDE! I'm right there with you. I actually only ordered mine last week on Friday. Space Grey as well. Im just effing dying. They got mine as it was already unloaded off the boat and "brought it into" their inventory from another dealer. At that time they told me, "it will be here this time next week". I think I check these boards a thousand times a day. I haven't actually tracked it. But after deciding I had tried long enough to teach myself patience, I emailed my SP to see what's what. That was at 3p yesterday; if the send/receive button on my email could wear out, it would have.

It doesn't get any better I'm afraid. Once your car is on a ship (and you've got the name of the vessel from your CA), you'll be manically tracking the it as it chugs its way over to the US...

A co-worker has been saying that he is surprised that I haven’t hoped a plane and gone to the port with a bull horn to get the car loaded faster. ;-)

Yeah, I wouldn't call the wait agonizing, but I'm completely distracted! I'm checking schedules, webcams, ship tracking...

BTW, the Don Carlos sailed this morning with cars bound for the U.S. east coast. No idea if I'm on it. Next chance is Elektra which departs next Tuesday.

If you know the VIN put it in the cargo ID and hit track.

This is for east coast deliveries.

Your CA should be able to get you the VIN.

Strangely enough, I have my VIN and I have tried plugging it into the WW site to no avail, even though it's been confirmed by my CA that my car is on a WW ship (the Madame Butterfly, to be exact).

Mind you, my car is headed for the west coast...

I got my VIN number today, and it is not tracking on the WW site either, of course the OC site still shows me as awaiting transport...

No, there are several U.S. ports on the east coast. Most ships stop in New York (even if they are going to California and Tacoma). Some also stop in Baltimore, Charleston, Brunswick (Ga.), and Galveston.

Even if you don't know what ship you are on, you can do a "port search" here: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...countryList.do

Start with Germany and U.S. On the next screen, choose Bremerhaven and New York. You will get a list of ships departing Germany for the U.S. Click on the voyage number to see which ports they will hit.
