Are any modifications necessary to install? To make other ICs fit correctly, it required shaving bits off the body.

I am definitely interested in upgrading the IC.

Our design is a bit more efficient at cooling air. The fact that our intercooler is taller and has more surface area allows it to deliver cooler air than some of our competitors. Our shroud is also better at channeling air directly to the intercooler.

The first intercooler design we tested was the Spearco system. We found it not to be up to par to our needs. Here are some dyno and condition maps of our design.

There aren't any modifications required to the actual body of the car. Some trimming of the radiator shroud and some drilling for the Intercooler support brackets is required.

I bought a bunch of Active Autowerkes Products a few months back and i have to say that i was NOT HAPPY at ALL.

To stay on the FMIC, because thats what thread this is, Your "little bit of trimming" is more like ALOT OF CUTTING!!!

Just want fellow members to know the truth. And correct me if i am wrong, but the piece that requires cutting ISN'T easy to replace now is it? Not to mention $800+ retail price if you ever did need or want to replace it.

But otherwise, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

Damn

Price is what is keeping me away, Intercoolers are Intercoolers. $2200 AUD is too much for a IC that is smaller than the STi or EVO equivalents which go for 50% of the price.

Its a case of overpriced in my view. Code3/Spearco appears to be better value for money.

I saw the intercooler today before it goes in my car. Looks good! Kris, if you want the best then this is it right now. The spearco one doesn't appear to have shrouding to chanel the air to the intercooler either.

As for pricing, I thought the Spearco one is US$1399? By the time you add shipping ($200?), duty and GST, and exchange rate, you are looking at the same price as what Andrew is qouting you anyway. But if you can source it much cheaper and don't care about the extra little bit better that this FMIC is over the competitor, then it would make sense.

Have you had the IC fitted yet? Any difference?
Yep.
