How do I fix window brown rubber seal discoloration/rotting?

Can you guys help me out here? How did this happen? It blows my mind because the seals around the entire rest of the car are fine, including the door window seals a 1/4" away. It was like this when I bought the car so I have no idea how it happened. It's an 09'. It hasn't gotten any worse over the 2 years I've owned it and I've been applying Meguiar's Vinyl/Rubber restore on it to protect it but it does nothing to rid that brownish color. Anyone have any advice on how to restore this?

Thanks!

That's the rubber's exterior coating breaking down. You can't "fix" that, but you can continue to detail the area and keep the rubber treated.
