Im looking into a half cage eventually. Have you found someone that makes just a bolt-in harness bar?

Not yet, may have it fabricated locally and then powder coated.

Tossed the car on the scales to see where she sits prior to corner balancing... definitely can get it under 3000lbs in the near future.

I love this photo...everything about this car is beautiful. I scored me some side skirts finally...took me forever to find them. Now I just have to decide on what front and rear bumper I want.

I love your car and your philosophy. Clearly you have the money to buy a more expensive car, but you're rather pour money into one that you love. Petrolheads understand this. Sure, you'll never get your money out of it if you sell it, so just don't sell it. I plan to keep my 128 as long as ICE cars are viable.

I've seen several good 2002 Petrolicious videos lately that make me appreciate my 128 more. The 1 series is truly the last BMW of its kind.

If you don't mind me asking....what all have you done towards Weight Reduction?

I know the wheels made a difference, but was wondering if anything else specifically.

Sadly.....they are almost impossible to find anymore. It took me 6+ months to get a set of side skirts and I got lucky. I haven't been able to find the bumper anywhere.

Challenge accepted

But seriously I doubt I'll find it but that won't stop me from trying.

Thanks your reply though mate.

I purchased the entire kit and hardware from Tischer BMW which is my local dealership about a year and half ago... According to the guy at the parts counter it was the LAST E82 Aero kit in stock and was shipped from the motherland.

Wow....I haven't really looked at the curb weight specs on these cars. I seen in another post where a guy weighed his 135i, and it surprised me how much it did weigh vs. what I thought it would.

I know! I was quite surprised when I got it on the scales, I can imagine getting rid of the sunroof, the stock seats, and the bulky battery alone will get it under 3000... also considering getting a square 17" Apex Forged setup in a couple months
