1M Exhaust upgrades
Hi,
Which exhaust do you guys recommend? I was guessing akrapovic? But the full system is around 4000EUR right? Any advice? I'm new to aftermarket exhausts.

Reach out to ALEJANDRO he is installing the HMS and will likely have vids. It functions much like the Akra w a "wired" remote control valve. It isn't titanium, so slightly heavier but EVERYONE says it sounds amazing.
They are built to order, check w/ Adam at GMP Performance

Okay so I'm looking at Akra and HMS.
I got my eyes on a used 1M and it already has the akra so that could be the deciding factor, however it costs like 8k more than the others I'm looking at. It has also got the Mperf steering wheel w/display and a Wagner Intercooler. Pricing for the HMS? In Europe?

^^^Agree with above. I've had the HMS rear exhaust and midpipes for about 18 months. Saw a gain of 18rwkw (about 24hp) with no other mods. Same dyno, same operator, but it was on different days. Probably the mids contribute most of this gain as they delete the secondary cats. Price in Europe is about 2.5k euro.
Akra sounds more unique. HMS is outright aggressive. If I had to have titanium, I prefer Lightweight's Titan exhaust. |

A lot of people are recommending HMS, does anyone have any feedback on HMS vs GTHAUS. I currently have gthaus with n55 mids and really like the booming sound it provides, but im looking for more burbles so i will be swapping the n55s for maddads.

To the OP, this question is too difficult for a straight answer. I think you need to work out what is most important to you in an exhaust and eliminate from there:
- price - valved and titanium exhausts are the costliest. Remus with n55 mids is a great entry level. - weight - any titan exhaust - build quality - all seem pretty good - hp increase - bonus really. Just don't pick one that loses power! - tip design - too subjective - resale - akra - noise flexibility of valved exhaust - akra and hms, hence the higher cost. There may be other valved exhausts out there (I remember seeing one made in Italy but can't recall the name). - sound - again subjective - ?? Bear in mind that by changing out the mids and or dps that the sound/tone of the rear can change quite a bit. Unless you have heard a particular combination then it's a bit of a gamble I'm afraid. Some owners also have great success with swapping dps and mids and leaving the rear stock. Work out your needs and your budget, then you'll find your exhaust. |

While there might be different preferences in sound, the HMS is in my opinion far superior than the Akra aesthetically speaking. the beauty of the HMS is that preservers the original looks of the OEM exhaust, but makes it more aggressive looking.
The akra is nice too, but the tips designed for the 1m are nowhere near the ones of the m3, m4, m5 or m6 models, despite you pay a similar price for the exhaust. I just hope that the tips Akra design for the m2 are as nice as those of other models and akra 1m exhaust owners can replace their current tips for the m2 at some point. of course there are other options such as meisterschafft but I honestly do not know much about it. just my opinion |

On my build thread, I have some photos of the HMS exhaust being installed that would give you an idea of the fit and finish. I've had it since 2013 and no regret. The sound is excellent.
