Left low beam malfunction error message
After installing LED angel eyes some moisture got into one headlight assembly after a wash.
I got it dried out, but now I'm getting no high or low beam headlights on that side, and an error message "Left low beam malfunction". Curiously, my code reader finds no codes from this. Anyone got an idea what this might be? |

A Cobb tuner - apparently an engine-only code reader. I took it to a guy with a full-diagnostic setup, and he found codes from the body computer. After using his computer to exercise the headlights, they "healed", and now work OK.
Weird. I also found out, as part of that, that the cornering lights are more interesting than I had realized: - the center halogen beams are used for cornering, one at a time - the one in the direction you are turning comes on while the normal beams also turn in that direction, - the cornering light switch position is actually full-automatic - the lights only come on when outside light is dim or dark, not in daylight. Both were a surprise to me. Last edited by EldRick; 06-16-2016 at 07:56 PM.. |
