1M owners, Whats your take on the W204 C63?

Hello guys, what title says....
I am the proud owner of a 2013 bare bones C63 coupe, the last great AMG car that I love to death, its my weeked toy, what an engine! very fun to drive, only 12,000 miles on the clock and in pristine condition, My DD is a boring Toyota Land Cruiser since I cant drive anything else to work. I was planning to keep my C63 for ever until last week that my sales guy offered me a 2012 BMW 1M with only 6000 miles, evolve full exhaust and AFE intake but never raced, looked like new! I am loosing sleep thinking about the swap, price wise its just $6K over my C63 that he would take on a trade, 1Ms are cheap in this part of the world compared to the ridiculous prices in the US.
Both great cars but the 1M seems to be more "special", a very fun drive, great power and cracking sound with a proper but tiring manual transmission in this horrible traffic, suspension was also a bit hard for my 48 y/o a$$ but what a toy! Would you do? keep my beloved C63 or take the M car and run! Please advise. Thanks

1M without any hesitation. Had an C63 with performance package for 2 years, it's a great car, but when it comes to usage of a weekend toy, the 1am beats the Merc by a mile

1M is awesome, no question in our minds here on this forum. However, this is a 1M forum and well.....we are just a tad bit biased 😉

Honestly, read up on some reviews and YouTube videos and the answers will come to you ðŸ™

You are only a yr older than me, and its quite diff coming into a 1M from a C63, I daily the 1M and never one time thinking the suspension is hard, I do love AMG engines, very powerful, but the 1M is an around good/fun car in a small package, thats what I thought about it. I have own/ driven much faster cars but kept the 1M and trade the faster ones ie GTR

Just turned 55 myself and I drive my 1M in traffic but I have never owned an automatic car. I love the firm suspension it feels really nice to me as I prefer that sort of ride. The only time I think it could be a bit smoother is when I'm really tired.

For me the 1M is the only car I've owned that I still think how good it is after 4 years of ownership. The longer I have it the more I learn to improve my driving in it and as has been said it's not the fastest car on the road but it's so much fun to drive even at low speed it feels good compared to other cars. It's not a perfect car as in it feels a bit wild sometimes but that's a big part of its appeal as for me perfect cars get boring very quickly.

One of my favourite quotes by a magazine review about the 1M when testing the then new M2 is

"But it falls a bit shy of the now-mythical 1M. That car was a far more focused machine that rewarded the best drivers who had the guts to extract the most from it. The M2 is very fast and very good, but it's also a bit more mainstream. The M2 has a much broader target audience, and hence it is a little watered down.

That being said I think a much wider range of drivers will get way more enjoyment out of the M2 than the 1M. It's easier to drive harder without the downside of scaring the bejesus out of you at random intervals."

This sums up why I love my 1M.

You should still buy what you like vs. worrying about value. That being said, I’d pick the 1M all day, regardless of value.
