While my wife's TL was in for service they gave me a TSX for a loaner. I was really looking forward to testing this car out. I came away hating the way the car drove and it didn't have enough power for me. JM2cents.

I just came from an '05 TSX. I'd suggest everyone try driving one before bashing it. It was a very nice car, it was definately underpowered but that's really the only complain I had about the car. I thought the interior ergonomics were actaully better than the E90, it didn't have the feel of the E90 but that's because it's a FWD car. It's definately fun to drive though, alot more fun to drive than the TL.
I'm surprised that Nikki didn't like the 6 SP stick. It's through is actually shorter than the E90 and I thought it was a lot smoother, it's very similar(if not the same) as the S2000 if anyone has driven that car. |

Just try a U turn in the TSX. You will go up on the curb and scrape your rims on a tight road. I don't know how they got away with making a small sedan have a turning circle greater than 40 feet.

The TSX is good, but the s2000 is the best shifting car in the planet IMHO. |

Part of the reason I got the S40 as a daily driver was the fact that I have been driving BMWs for 10 years and wanted a short term change. If it wasn't for the fact that I got a massive discount off of sticker for it, I would have gotten a TSX. Given all the nagging problems I have had with the S40, I am kicking myself for not having bought the TSX- worst car decision I've ever made... |

I don't think you can speak about the overwhelming majority of people who drive. Many people crave more horsepower; that's why all of the manufacturers are "racing" to produce the most horsepower. If I can get another car with similar options, similar reliability, and somewhat simliar costs, I would get one with the more HP.
Additionally, all that I said was that it was underpowered for that price. I continued to add that it had a good look and nice gadgets. I did not disagree with anyone. I was just simply stating my opinions.

TSX, would be top of the line sedan in its class. IF it had more power.
If you are well familiar with honda community and active in honda forums, you will know what Im talking about. Just about everyone point that out, even TSX owners agree. Beautiful design in and out, VERY good handling(one of the best FWD handling vehicle), functional, lots of extra. Just not enough power. 3300pds and 200hp? (200hp, but considering its gutless power under vtec crossover which means no low-end, its not BMW 200hp) I don't think so. They average mid-high 15s 1/4mile in reality. Some do hit low 15s, but thats REALLY rare. thats 6spd though, the auto? oh god. as expected, honda's love-to-rev-high engines are fun though. Then again, market for TSX is not all for performance-oriented drivers. It still sells pretty well last i checked(better than RSX). I wouldn't mind having one. Especially right now, where there are variety of aftermarket parts available. intake and hondata ECU flash, now it has some better power band.

I took one for a short test drive a while back and I remember an attractive, quality interior, comfortable seats, quiet engine, and peppy ride, but not really connected like the BMW.
By the way Nikki, is that a picture of you! (Wow!) |

I test drove the tsx..and i just couldnt stop thinking about the bmw while i was in it. For someone who has no clue as to what power/torque etc is.. then the tsx is super nice.. i loved all the gadgets for the same/less than my 325i. The seats are what didnt work for me. Im 5'3 and i rasied the butt part to the MAX and i couldnt see past the windsheild wiper lol

For a better deal and all-wheel drive....get the RL($49,999.99)....
still cheaper than an almost fully-loaded 330i.

The TSX is sold here as the Honda Accord. It was one of the cars I considered before buying the E90. Overall it's not as sporty as the BMW , but it looks nice , has a nice revvy engine , and the gearshift is great.
I didn't take it over the BMW , but I would take it over the base Audi A4. |

"Many people crave more horsepower;" People like horsepower the same way they like more Mhz in their computer; horsepower is a simplistic, easily judged metric that marketing departments can compete against one another with. In much the same way that the overwhelming majority of the market for computer's performance needs were met about 5 years ago, the amount of horsepower you need to get a vehicle safely, efficiently and even quickly around the public roadways was reached about a decade ago. Horsepower has basically turned into shorthand for the male bravado cock measuring dance that car enthusiasts have been doing since Jesus himself put 4 on the floor. Car manufacturers know this, they know that people will want the car with 300bhp more then they will want the car with 280bhp and they act accordingly. Many markets are driven by the phenomenon where the customers are buying what they perceive to be the better value even though they are spending extra money for features/metrics that are far beyond what they will ever need. Consumers are stupid and, much like Fox Television, automotive manufacturers succeed or fail based on their ability to throw red meat to the sheeple. Did you know that I run a company that manufacturers consumer products? |

- New camshaft and rear main seals on the new engine with 900 miles on it. - New stereo head unit due to a jammed CD (which Volvo is attempting to charge me for because I used burned CDs) - New sunroof + sunroof tracks due to major rattling. - Pending lawsuit against dealer for misrepresenting the vehicle features (iPod and sat radio connectivity). - Prodigious use of oil (1qt every 750 miles) - Extremely bad fuel consumption (I'm getting 15mpg when I drive like a normal person) - New dipstick tube, replaced due to major leakage (twice). Yea, I wish I had gotten the TSX... |
