1m shocks/springs on 135i?

Has anyone put the 1M springs and dampers on the 135i?

Considering, all the aluminum suspension bits are swappable wouldn't the 1M springs and shocks be a great setup? (the rear would require the m rear lower camber links to fit the M rear shocks)

Also, how would the 1M spring rates and ride height compare to the BMW Performance yellow springs?

I know similar topics have been discussed thoroughly, but I haven't seen posts about 1M springs/dampers on the 135i. Thanks in advance for everyones input!

I asked this question only just today in the Ohlins R&T thread directly below. It was quite thoroughly answered by hpautowerks.

Thanks, I'll be sure to check it out...

Follow up:

So it's clear that the front shocks would need the 1M spindle to mount. So it is unlikely anyone would ever change all four spindles just to get the 1M shocks and springs on a 135i, but this still leaves the question of 1M springs on a 135i.

Does anyone know the front/rear spring rate of the 1M springs?

135i spring rate:
• Front: 120 lb/in
• Rear : 350 lb/in

135i Performance yellow spring rate:
• Front: 160 lb/in
• Rear : 420 lb/in
*Thanks Gary for the correct specs

1M spring rate?:

Would the 1M springs match well with Koni adjustable yellow sport shocks? Perhaps, this combo is a better match than yellow springs and koni adjustable shocks?
Thanks again for everyones input.

Unless BMW changed it, I don't think the Performance spring rates are that high. Someone measured them a few years ago at 160/420, which agrees in the front with the BMW advertising that says 33% more than stock.

...adding: I remember now, the figures you posted are the 3-series Performance springs.

FYI... 1M rear shocks won't fit on a 135i bc they mount differently to the 1M/M3's rear control arms.

Yes.

On top of the the 1M strut will not work on the 135i unless you use 1M/M3 spindles, hubs and brakes.
