Recaro sportster cs question.

Hello!

Is there somebody that has put in an recaro sporter cs seat with airbag, and what is necessary to mount it! The BMW performance seat is too expensive for My taste.. I have talked to a couple of resellers but they say that they dont have any "brackets" for the 1m coupe. But they do have to the normal 1-series, and it should be exactly the same!?

Sportster CS seats already some equipped with side brackets, you will need floormounts and seatbelt brackets also:

Macht Schnell - Seatbelt Receptacles for Competition Liteweight Floor Mounts
Macht Schnell - Competition Liteweight Floor Mounts for Racing Seats - E82 1-Series, E9X 3-Series & M3
RECARO - Slider Track Kit (optional)

We have everything in stock, let me know if you have any questions and I'll be my best to help.

The performance seats are not fixed back and probably don't hold you as well as the seats pictured.

Sometime next year - I should get a set with leather and matching orange stitching.

Here in Europe price of Recaro Sportster CS is not so low in comparsion to their version selled by BMW as Performance seats. Consider that you need all those items:

Real leather sides (not Nardo or Vinyl or etc)
Acantara seat and back
White stitching
Airbag
Heating
Rail mount

If you ask official Recaro dealers for Sportster CS in that configuration they wants around 1250 EUR without VAT.

My BMW dealer charge me 1400 EUR without VAT for one Sport Seat.

FYI: Found German Ebay pricing for BMW performance seat at ~1450 EUR per seat including VAT, warranty and mounting (vendor name individual-car-consulting, near Munich).

one of my colleagues who owns a 1m had recaro sportser cs seats installed - including full leather with orange stitching and colored ///M logo stitched in the headrest

he told me you will need a bmw OEM part - a mat which recognizes if the seat is occupied

Heard about the occupancy mat difference; related to US compliance of all stock seats, absent from ECE only seats. Can probably also be solved with some coding.

As that describes my ultimate 1M seat mod, do you know at what price did Recaro or other supplier (?) deliver his seats? Is the standard Recaro leather a match for the 1M rear seats/ the 1M interior. Dare I ask for pics?

MSRP is € 1480,-- heated / with airbag

my colleague had the seats covered in leather/alcantara with orange stitching and colored ///M logo - the work has been done by a leather upholstery custom shop

he ended up paying € 4000,-- for the two seats installed with the mat and coding and including the leather/stitching job

he showed up in his e46 yesterday so i could not take pictures
