335is/135is exhaust

Does anyone know the difference between these two systems. FWIW side by side the 135is seems quite a bit louder on start up.

i was driving next to a 335is the other day and thought it was VERY quiet.....

apparently it's not a PE system like the 135is...it's a different exhaust from the PE system available on the 3-series.

The 335is muffler fits between the stock & PE. Its pretty mellow at cruise, no drone, but has a very hard staccato rap at WOT. It’s a nice sleeper but there is no doubt at all its a high volume unit when the power is on.

It seemed like the 135is skipped straight to the PE. Thanks for the conformation

So just to confirm the 135is exhaust is the exact same as the bmw performance exhaust you can buy for a n55 or n54? Meaning 135is has no resonator and performance muffler? Does the 135 performance exhaust ditch the exhaust flap like the performance exhaust on a 335?

Yes, the 135is has the exact PE exhaust you can buy at BMW as an aftersale part. And yes, the PE exhaust system does not have the left-tip valve that many people turn off with the golf tee mod.

I was curious about this too...which one is louder when going WOT? I know for sure the 335is is pretty loud from the outside when going WOT. I've never heard my car (running hard) from the outside ever...
