My mod list

So my car has hit 10,000km and I got money returned by my bank that was defrauded from me, my budget is $15,000AU (probably equiv to about $10,000US)

Magnetic oil drain plug

cobb tune

aFe stage 2 air intake pro dry

PSS tyres 225 255

M3 control arms

Rear subframe bushings

cobb downpipe

BMS oil catch can

gloss black grill with M color stripes

charge pipe ETS or ER or cobb

Dinan or cobb or ER FMIC

I am now unsure if I want an exhaust or not, probably not.

I am considering getting headers.

I dont think I have reached my budget yet and dont know what other mods I can do.

I would like BBS LM rims but really doubt I can afford them at the moment.

bms dps
meth
custom cobb tune
coilovers
m3 bushings etc

this is based on an n54

but I guess if expensive wheels and coilovers are high on your list that might beat up quite a bit of your budget

Keep in mind he's in Australia so you have to factor in exchange rates, shipping, import duties, etc.

Also pretty sure his car is a N55.

its N55, I never thought about replacing the turbo or getting meth.
I am concerned about losing low end torque from replacing the turbo.
I am also concerned about engine longevity with meth.

What is wrong with getting headers?

Turbo cars have a turbo charger manifold not headers. headers are for N/a cars or supercharged

Just about everyone starts with engine mods. While they are great, I guarantee you will get more satisfaction with suspension mods. If your budget permits, may I suggest a set of lightweight wheels and proper non-run flat tires, the full M3 suspension upgrade including the subframe bushings, and a decent set of coilovers and camber plates. And if there's anything left over, a LSD. Trust me when I say the car will feel much faster, look better and drive smoother with a proper suspension. The engine is pretty strong in stock form but the handling is atrocious. Furthermore, the engine mods are relatively cheep and most can be installed by a moron in their own garage (and I'm speaking from experience). You can always stage your engine mods as additional funds become available (e.g. Cobb, then FMIC, then down pipes, etc.). Doing a full suspension/LSD conversion is expensive in comparison, but you will save on labor if it is done all at once. Doing one suspension mod at a time would be horribly expensive since you will end up incurring the same labor/alignment charges over and over again. So in summary I would use the big chunk of money for the suspension and save up little chucks of money for the engine mods.

I am not tracking the car so I dont want sway bars, and I am getting electronic adjustable suspension (comfort and sport button). I am not keen on meth for the same reasons NA guys would be against a turbo, I think its screwing with things too much.

Pig Farmer if you read my whole post you will see I am doing suspension mods.

I am actually wondering what else I can do to improve the ride quality I hear there are other bushings that can be replaced...

i just feel you dont really have the knowledge on this cars platforum based off your responses. In no way am i trying to be a dick. you make a good point about not wanting to run meth, but if you research this platforum you will see that they handle like pigs. if you looks at my mod list in my singature you can see how much i did with my suspension and im still not where i want to be. Post a build thread when you start modding.

With 10 000$ budget i would go
Cobb
AFE intake
AA DP
ER CP
ER FMIC

That being said you could also go with VRSF and JB4; save money while not sacrificing performance

I have decided to go with AA DPs rather than BMS as the AA seem much better.

Will a bigger intercooler make much difference to a smaller one?

I think 5in fmic is fine if ur sticking with stock turbos. But u can always go bigger if u choose. I just got a vrsf 5in for a great price on here waiting to get it installed this week. I will then be running cobb stage 1 with intercooler map and should see some good gains.
