Steering feels loose

I just put on my summer set on yesterday and while I was driving my car around town today my steering felt off and a little weird...

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem, I did put them on myself so the nuts might not be on tight enough ???

I have the stock Potenza RFTs mounted onto Bremmer Kraft BR05's that are 8" and 9" (0.5" increase over the stock 261s), would that have any effect in the steering ?

Thanks

Did you swap the front wheels/rotate? I just recently swap the snows for the summers and i had them marked when i removed them. I swapped/rotated the fronts and rear, left to right, right to left....etc. For a few days i did feel the same steering issues. This is because tires wear a little different. Give it a few miles and put some heat in them, they should "settle down" and track straight. Also did you adjust/check tire pressure? All of summer tires had 25psi after sitting in the cold garage for 5 months. Drive a few hundred miles double check the wheel bolts. Another thing i noticed is that BMW is using what VW/Audi uses for power steering fluid CH11. (aka- piss water mineral oil) Dont get me started...........I'll be doing annual power steering flushes any day now.

Aren't the OEM tires directional? You may want to put them on facing the right direction.

I've had problems in years past with mounting used tires with the direction of rotation reversed. Internal belts broken, with large bubble developing on the sidewall, and had to scrap the tire. I don't know if that's still a problem with current tires, but I believe BMW does not recommend rotating tires from side to side.

If you did what i think you did, then you have both front tires rotating reversed of what you had originally.. as said above, its not the best case for the tires wear pattern /longevity/ feeling

There is no direction of rotation, that's why they are asymmetrical...
My rims might not be balanced properly, gotta get that checked out

I would double check the tire pressures to see if they are up to spec first. This will play a large factor in steering response.
