Reliable power setup
After 3 days with the car I'm absolutely in love, however I do want to get a bit higher up in the HP/TQ numbers from stock. What would be the best way to get around 310-320rwhp? I'm not looking for anything crazy out of this car, it's still going to be my DD! I also don't want to take too much of a hit on MPG's, not that it's critical
So far I was thinking intake/supporting mods and a tune, just not sure one which ones. I really would rather keep the exhaust stock or close to it loudness-wise.

Is that for the N55 as well though?

Go with a tune from JZW. I ran his stage 1 for 15k miles no issues and my fuel economy stayed around 23.4 mpg city and 30ish highway!
Granted I live in the suburbs and highway is pretty flat because MI.

If you don't mind spending the coin, there is always Dinan Stage 2.
Flash-and-forget convenience if you are still under warranty and don't want to have to remove your JB4 for dealer visits. It is the most expensive option available, but if you have an N55 and your car was built too late to be Cobb compatible, your choices are basically Dinan (flash) or JB4 (piggyback, but far better than other piggybacks). Depends on your needs and priorities (convenience, cost, warranty, power, etc.). JB4 will make more power at a fraction of the cost and is adaptable to other mods. Depending on your dealer, though, you will likely have to take it off every time you go in if you are under warranty. Dinan comes with a warranty and if (like me) your Dinan dealer is also your BMW dealer, there will never be any warranty issues or questions. The down side is if you want to go full bolt-on (down pipe, etc), it will not adjust and your gains for those mods will be minimized. The only supporting mod that Dinan Stage 2 is designed to work with (optionally) is an upgraded FMIC. To others: let's not make this a debate about Dinan - the point of this post is to discuss the options and the pros and cons for what appears to be an N55 engine. Dinan is the right tune for some priority sets (like mine) and it is the wrong one for others - there is no right or wrong answer, just one that fits each individual's needs.

My dealership offered a 15% discount right away if I was a CCA member. Then I talked them down a little more. Also, Dinan usually has a big (20% off) sale in the Spring and often in October, so if they don't offer a good deal before then, I would wait for a sale. You should be able to get it for $1600-$1700 plus install (an hour at standard rate of $150/hr). Like I said, it is VERY pricey, but it is a reliable and smooth flash tune with a warranty that makes a dramatic difference if you break it in properly (lots of WOT pulls in 2-4 gear) and give it 50-100 miles to adapt. I love it. I would also recommend finding a dealer if you can who is both a BMW and a Dinan dealer. I am lucky to have 2 in my area (SE Massachusetts).

pretty much any tuner at a flash only will give you pretty much no problems, but might shine light on any components on their way out (sparkplugs, coils, etc)

I would go with BMW"s Performance tune PPK or with a flash tune.

Good posts. 310-320whp is pretty easily achievable and there are a lot of reliable options. No one seems to have anything bad to say about any of the popular options, with the exception of some varying degrees of cost I don't think you can go wrong. I will tell you this, though - once that mod bug bites you, you're not going to want to stop! Keep that in mind (flexibility) when you choose, some options are more easily expanded on than others.
