brakes
would it be silly of me to just upgrade the front pads and rotors and leave the rear stock? rears have only 19k miles on them...70 percent of the stopping power is in the front correct?

Generally it is best to stick with matched components.

Add 130i or 335i front brakes. If you use the former I read you just need the carriers and the larger discs, if the latter you need complete set of calipers plus discs. You can also opt to buy a used set of F30 335i used set which bolt right on.
I have e9x 335i fronts and car works just perfect with a bit more stopping power and they stand abuse thoroughly. I can do full brake stops and the car follows the line, so you are not disturbing the car at all, at least not in a manner you notice. |

Keep in mind while the 135/335 brakes are larger they are still designed for street use/everyday driving. Brake fade will be noticeable after a couple hot laps maybe sooner. With a super aggressive pad you will sound like a bus coming to a stop and a little more dust than stock pads lol. Also keep in mind they take longer to heat up to get sufficient braking performance. Tires play a huge roll in braking don't forget. |

pertaining to the original thread those pads have done me justice. Granted from running them I've never had an issue but some ppl have had them glaze over from a DD sort of setting
