Love that car. Really want to get one but have always wanted a 911 turbo so just couldnt pull the trigger and spend 100k on cayman. At least not until I have experienced the quintessential Porsche, even if the Cayman may be better!

Not sure if you've ever received any people skills or harassment training. Perception is directly related to someone's understanding/comprehension. One person's understanding may differ from others. The main point is not what you say or write, it's how others perceive it. Anyway, "Fanboy" is defined as a boy or man who is an extremely or overly enthusiastic fan of someone or something. If you don't think this accurately describes you, then you're in denial. Obviously, your perception of the term "Fanboy" is a derogatory one; however, one could deduce that since we're on the forums we're all fanboys.

you didn't read my original post carefully; evidenced by the fact you inferred that I was saying the 1M is better than the GT4 which I never said....at all....so this isn't a matter of perception it is a lack of comprehension. The end. |

Such a Troll. Leave the guy alone, he simply stated that he wished he would have bought a GT4 but is happy that he has his 1M because it has character in its own right. To each his own. |

Picked mine up this weekend, drove it back 1400 miles and three states. I'll post some thoughts vs the 1M after I autocross it this weekend. Currently I've got both cars in the garage...

amazing!! congratulations! can't wait to hear some thoughts about its behaviour on the street compared to the 1M! I'm more interested in your street experience with it rather than autocross.....but i can wait i suppose! |

On the street I think u will appreciate the 1M more...
With the 1M you never want more power on the street, you want more traction With the GT4 since it is so composed, you want more power. Its more fun to slide a bit in the 1M than just drive the GT4 at 30% on the street. My take is wait for 991 GT3 version 2, rumour is it will have 3 pedals. |

Wow, congrats to Pete, I hope you clear bra that beautiful car, front look pretty nasty, I am so jello, CONGRATS!!
GT4 is unique like the 1M, and I believe we are all some kind of fanboys one way or the other, but we are all adults here, so lets play nice you all. Congrats to all the 1M owners that are getting one of this beauty. |

Kills bugs fast! Congrats on a sweet ride & awesome first pics.
Looking forward to your impressions of GT4 vs. 1M. I test drove a Cayman S a few years ago--liked it a lot but wasn't thrilled. Compared to the S, the 1M had less poise but way more excitement. To be honest, I love the rear weight bias in the 911 and find my 993 to be a good stablemate to the 1M in that it's a completely different ride. I'm also interested in your opinions about GT4 vs 911.

It is a good problem to have, but it's still a problem. I need a bigger garage:
There is no question that he GT4 is a technically "better" car. There is also no question that for many uses the 1M is more fun. I think owning both side by side puts exactly how good the 1M is into perspective. Not technically- we know it has flaws. But emotionally...

You know, I love the looks and performance bits of GT4... but if I was thinking about one, it cannot be my only car. It's such a waste to drive it on the streets and even as a weekender I think it would be difficult to manage unless you're away from traffic. But would you end up tracking the GT4 more than your 911?
Kind of the same logic why I ended up not splurging on an Evora S... |
