128 resonator delete+ custom mids to mate up to a 135i Active autowerke axle back muffler delete.

128 resonator delete+ the same custom mids mated to a 135i stock axleback.

I find the GoPro mic struggles a bit with exhaust recording. I'm working on finding an external mic that can handle the db level that I can then sync to the video.

Get an external mic from amazon and plug it into the GoPro directly.

No need to overlay or sync.

I run this mic:

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica...a+external+mic

this is what it sounds like with my aftermarket exhaust on my z4. it is running to the back hatch and sits right above the license plate

I agree re the go pro, you get a lot of unwanted noise from wind. I used a Audio Technica PRO 24-CM Stereo Condenser in my last video above and wire it out the boot so it sits right next to the exhaust.

Nope, the flap is gone. the little tube which controls it is plugged onto a little metal knob on the perf exhaust.

For some reason, I thought you already had the BMW PE. Expecting any gains from the SS exhaust or is it just a sound thing like the PE?

Purely sound and eliminating the rattle from the Golf Tee mod. If anyone was going to make gains, it would be Supersprint, but I strongly believe there is nothing to get from the muffler(which Supersprint agreed with me on). Pick what sounds best to you and is the lightest.

Wise Words from a WiseMan. You've heard the SS muffler before? Does it resemble a PE? or just some other monster?

Frankly, no idea. Exhaust videos are a pretty meaningless source of info and I don't know of anyone in the states with a 128i running Supersprint parts. Hell for the headers Supersprint didn't even have the 128i listed on their site until I sent them my install thread.

PE is definitely the good safe choice. I really think BMW hit a home run with it.

Here's my 135i exhaust paired with a resonator delete 2 weeks in.
Has settled quite nicely, was a bit too loud for the first couple of days.
(Taken with iPhone 5 lol)

Just a short clip since I didn't wanna piss off my neighbors, but you get the idea
p.s. Don't mind my f**ked up diffuser.

Here's what it sounded like before the resonator delete, just the 135i muffler (also the day I got it installed)

Much deeper, louder and raspier with the resonator gone. But I like it, personally. Barely any drone whatsoever, the slightest bit at 2.5k rpm, but I aint an old man, doesn't bother me. Crackles and pops A LOT when I ease off the throttle in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Here are two other videos for reference:

Quite sure this guy has a 135i performance exhaust with a 135i PE Y-Pipe (reso delete)

And this one is a 135i exhaust with reso delete.

Once i get my exhaust leak sorted i need to get a video of it with mapleridge's headers and the 135i muffler+resonator delete.. it sounds drastically different then before the headers. A bit raspy but i love it. And yes it's very loud.
