I painted my hats tonight . . .

This car has never seen snow. I brought it up from Texas back in March. It has always bugged me that the was orange showing on the rear rotor hats. I'm surprised there was not paint on them from the factory. I don't think they are stainless are they?

Tonight was the night.

Here is a shot before, you can see the orange between the spokes on the rotor hat.

Attachment 725128

The rotor itself.

Attachment 725141

Painted w/ industrial hi-temp stainless steel paint.

Attachment 725146

Final after the paint and cleaning and applying REJEX on the wheels

Attachment 725148

Sorry for the Iphone photos.

Regards,

Nope, the entire rotor/hub assembly is steel.

You might want to apply a light coating of high temp grease or anti-seize to the center of the hub so it doesn't rust, otherwise the center hub will bleed rust after driving through water or washing the wheels...

Drove my 1 like it was meant to be driven on a tremendous stretch of rural road...i dont tend to drive it very hard (WOT maybe once a week), so this was easily the best thrashing ive given it. The car handled things with aplomb outside of the brakes getting a bit tired. It was awesome!

Thanks.

Next time I pull the wheels I'll do just that. Not sure how the paint will hold up anyway.

I only drive it in nice weather.

That's a bummer...at the same time, there are certainly times when the back seat and trunk of my 1er make me

If you prepped it well it should hold up just fine, I think.

On my one-month old car, I noticed the rust bleeding from the center hub and when I popped off the cap, I could see quite a bit of rust forming on the hub... After carefully scraping out most of the rust with a small wire brush, I applied the anti-seize and I haven't seen any rust bleed since.
