New VMRs won't fit!
So I ordered some V710 Matte Black in 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 for front and rear respectively. MY stock wheels are the 264 and the specs seem to say they are 7.5 and 8.5 front and rear. I had two different installers try to install these starting with the front, both times they are rubbing on the struts. I am trying to see how everyone else is getting these installed when the stock is saying 7.5 and 8.5 and VMR doesn't have those sizes. VMR says they had very rare cases such as mine and they want to say it's my alignment. The stock offset is 49mm front and 52mm rear from my understanding. These wheels are 45mm and 50mm so I don't see why these arn't fitting. I'm no expert and just want to see what everyone else says, especially those with VMR's themselves. I am running stock suspension also. The rims rub the strut in front with no tire, so assuming it'd be worse with a tire on there.

Consider this... 9.5 +62 and 8.5 +45 fits, so the fact that the wheels themselves touch the struts probably means you have a bigger problem. Are you sure you got the right offset (aka check the stamping on the wheels.) For some reason I feel like i've heard this before however, possibly they only fit with a spacer.

The new wheels would be 8mm closer to the strut since it is an inch wider than stock. Most don't rub with those specs in the front but it has to be very close on everyone's care. For sure an et45 would be within a mm from my front strut because I have et42s and I can pass a 3mm allen head between my gap but not a 4mm allen head.
A 2mm to 4mm spacer should solve the problem. I'm sure the rears will fit unless you put huge tires on them and then they'll rub the fenders.

There was a thread I came across that was posted a while ago, in which the OP had problems fitting his APEX wheels(similar offsets) while his car was jacked up, but when he set it down everything was fine. I'll see if I can find it.

yea i'm just trying to convince the shop to continue with the work, once they see it in the air like that they stop and put the old tires on, VMR even said they'l send me free spacers if it didn't work because they guarantee the fitment.

got an aftermarket experienced installer checking it out tomorrow, screw the corporate companies just trying to cover themselves. Will let you know the status, if anyone else runs into this issue.

We've sold tons of these setups, and guarantee that the fit will work. Up front, it is VERY close, however it should not touch. If you are experiencing physical contact, where the wheel meets the strut, then I would suggest inspecting your suspension to make sure that nothing is bent. There may only be 2mm of clearance between the wheel and the strut, and I've had cases where customers thought it was actually touching, but in reality it wasn't.
If you are able to take it to a shop and they try to mount them on with all the lug bolts, I would suggest trying to slide something thin between the wheel and strut to check for clearance. A piece of paper or possibly even something like a credit card should give you an idea of how close it really is. Here are a couple pics of how close it is roughly. You're looking at 2-3mm of clearance, and if it's physically touching, I would definitely be concerned with other suspension components. DJIntel, what tire size were you planning on running?

the tire size is 215/40 front and 245/35 back. The pictures seem identical to mine, I don't think there is a problem with my alignment or suspension. I just think the installers compared them to my stock wheels and noticed the clearance was a huge difference, with the original 7.5 front and aftermarket 8.5 front, and them not being comfortable with it. I hope I have luck tomorrow.

You shouldn't have any clearance issues with a 215 then. Hopefully the installer tomorrow has good news for you!

If the tires have not been Road Force Balanced, I would suggest trying that. Glad to hear that they are on though!

yes that is what I am doing, here are some pics as well, also do the wheel weights from the stock rims need to be transferred onto these ones, or do I have to get a shop to reapply new ones?
And screw you guys, I like my M Badges where they are, i'm too poor to get an M3, lol |

Wait, do your wheels and tires not have wheel weights on them now? New ones should have been applied when they put the tires on them!

yep no wheel weights, which is another reason to suspect they didn't balance properly. I didn't even think to look afterwards but noticed during driving. Going on a Road Force tomorrow at a shop that has one, as this one obviously did not.

I'm shocked they just mounted them without balancing them. That's definitely the root of your vibration issues!

They said they balanced them, what machine I'm not sure, I know some people don't even have wheels weights. Actually just looked and they do have weights on them, they're just on the inside that's why I didn't see them, still getting road forced though.
