All Season Run Flats
OK, for various reasons I'm replaceing my NCT5 Runflats with runflats. Please no runflats are trash comments. My questionis , whats a good all season runflat that would be a bit better cold weather tire than the NCT5s?
Bare in mind we have mild winters here but still get 1-2 days of snow/ice per year |

I'd recommend looking at Tirerack's selection.

The Bridgestone RE960 A/S Pole Position is my favorite.

You can go square with 225/45R17 A/S runflats all around which shows 7 choices on tirerack. Still, you will have way more choices going non-runflat. I did more than 3 years ago and never looked back. Just saying..

Well, after getting prices (choke, gasp) I'm rethinking the run flat thing. Now looking at Contis extreme contact DWSs. A set of four for same price as 2 NCT5s.

Just get yourself a good roadside flat repair kit (Slime, BMW Mobility, build your own, etc.) and should be okay without the run-flats.

Definitely switching to non-RFTs after these NCT5s wear out.

Good gawd what a difference. Much much much quieter than the NCT5s. Much better ride, steering, maybe a wee bit softer but not bad at all. One of best decisions I've ever made.

I've got the Conti DWS going on the car tomorrow. Replacing the Pirelli P Zero RFT's.

Had them a week now . There is absolutely nothing I can say bad about these tires. Love them. One pleasant surprise , increased gas milage from about 22 mpg to over 23.

Lighter tires will do wonders for your gas mileage. Glad you like them. I am still debating between the Conti's and the Michelin PS3's. The PS3's are new, so the reviews are pretty limited at the moment.

I really like a set of 960AS non-RFT I had on my Subaru. The latest version is called the RE970, though. I think production ended on the RE960 at least a year ago. I know several people who have owned or do own the RE960 or RE970 and everyone has liked the tire. For an AS they actually have decent summer grip, are great in the cold, and decent on snow/ice. No AS will be great at everything compared to dedicated role tires, but I'd say overall it is a very solid tire.
