2011 TPMS work on 2009 cars
Sorry for the noob question, but do TPMS sensors from 2011+ models work with 2009 model cars? Did BMW change the frequency of the sensors?

Assuming we are talking about your 1 series, 2011+ sensors will not work on a 2009 model car. The 2009 uses a different model sensor. Let me know if you need any further help with this.

When did they change the sensor? Is the brand different? I ask because I just ordered a set from Tire Rack for my 2010 128i and the sensors that came are not the Berus that I received from them a few years ago. Haven't installed them yet...

The sensors changed for the 2011 model year 1 series.
The sensors that you received probably say Huf on them. Huf bought out Beru a couple of years ago and continues to be the supplier of the OE sensors for BMW. |

I think it was on/at Sept 2010 builds(2011 M.Y.) and later that the TPMS freq was changed.

Thanks for the info, guys. The sensors I have are indeed Hufs. And I checked the invoice, and the frequency is the same as the current Berus I'm using (433 MHz), so I think I'm good to go.
