Need advice for lowering kit...

the wheels are D-force 17x8.5 ET40 front and rear, tires 235/40 front
255/40 rear.

im looking for lowering springs, from what i see H&R offers the lowest drop
2.2F, 1.6R. is there any lower kit than H&R?
can i cut from the rear spring to make it 2.2?

the wheels will rub if i lower it that much?

thanx.

Why staggered tires on non staggered rims? Cut springs on any car let alone a BMW is a big no no. Look up pictures of each brands springs and see which stance you like the best. Eibach is an even drop all around but probably not low enough for your taste.

You're kinda destroying the ride quality of your car completely. Especially if you start cutting springs. Also too low and will look lame in my opinion.

won't cut anything, but i want to know if the h&r sport kit will fit without rubbing on the 17" rims?
or do i need to lower the tire from 235/40 to 235/35?

I think you'll be okay depending on how low you go. Don't take my word on it. I know my friend runs alfugens 18x8 et 45 all around with 225-40-18 and she has no problems.
