Need help: bought 19x8.5 et35 and having fitment issues
Today I bought a second hand set of VMR V710’s form a well known eBay seller, and picked them up locally.
The seller advertised the wheels as Front: 19x8.5 et45 , 225/35R19 Rear: 19x9.5 et50 , 255/30R19 When I put them on my car, I found out that the seller had made a (honest) mistake in the listing… The actual wheel specs: Front: 19x8.5 et35 , 225/35R19 Rear: 19x9.5 et50 , 255/30R19 (Bridgestone potenza tires) Once I installed the front wheels and lowered the car onto the ground, the front fenders were literally resting on the tires… [I attached two pictures to show how tight the front fitment is] For reference, my 2011 128i is lowered on H&R sport springs, bilstien B8 shocks, and I have M3 control arms. What I’ve tried so far: I did a slight roll to the fender, helped some but obviously isn’t enough. I tried looking for 215/35R19 tires and nothing came up. I would consider chamber plates, but don’t know if that would be enough or make the car handle poorly. I really like these wheels, and the price was great too. Is there any way I could make this size work? |

Apex lists 18x8.5" ET35 with a similar diameter tire as needing at least -2 camber up front, a pair of adjustable camber plates like these from Vorshlag should easily get you there and allow for some fine tuning.

1- those wheels appear to be too far outside of the wheel arch are you sure the et is +35? . I have a set of wheels 18x8.5 et34 with 235/40R18 wheels with st coilovers, m3 control arms and dinan camber plates and no rub at all even during heavy breaking and cornering in track.
2- wow your car is way too low! I don't think any 19s will fit in there comfortably, the front fender is a very tight place |

et45 would be very close to the strut, might have needed a small spacer. So at least you are fine on that side of the wheel. For sure camber is all that's needed. Most who drive our cars aggressively want at least 2 deg of camber to help our cars tendency to understeer. Pull your pins until you figure out whether you want to try fixed or adjustable camber plates. When you get a new alignment encourage the aligner to set it so you barely have any toe. Camber is not so bad on tires as long as there is very little toe.
