Not that I'll get it before the 22nd of March, but what the heck...

Pretty sad I can recite that off the top of my head, huh?

How is this possible? My # is 3902xxx and it still shows on order on OC. Is there a special someone that I need to call to get it to assembly line?

I was able to get into owners circle today with my production number starting with 392. Thanks to all that helped me out. Now the wait begins. How long will status be 'On Order'?

Call the 800 number and it will tell you expected build date too, via the automated system.

PDZ -I think your car will likely be produced in the next 3 weeks given we have similar production numbers.

I've been told the latest mine will go into production is the 8th week of the year (ie 3rd week in Feb).

production numbers have a loose correlation with build date. from what i can tell, production numbers can be thought of as tickets for a build ... they are distributed to the dealers and then to the customers as the cars as sold as priority 1 cars. Just because you have production #1 doesn't necessarily mean you will be the first (or 50th) car to be produced.

the actual build date seems to be affected much more by when your dealer actually submits the order, the configuration you choose, and the cruel whims of the car gods.

like larry said, call and speak to a human...they can likely tell you more.

I agree about the build date being affected by your configuration. It almost seems as if they are building similarly specced cars together. It seems like us Coral Red interior guys just got built in the last week or so.

Not sure, could be supplier issues. Then again it would make sense to punch out a bunch of cars with the same configuration at one time as well, atleast I would think from a efficiency standpoint.

Robert, how's your car spec'd? Anything out of the norm?

yup. the phone system says I'm at the port at bremerhaven but it appears that I (my car) might actually be on a boat already.

so it looks as though lemon might not be the hold-up for you.

Got an email saying my car will complete production on feb-13 and, it will await for a transport. BMW OC still shows as scheduled for production, though.

^ I'm in the same boat now (no pun intended). Got my VIN so now we have to focus on the shipping schedule for the next couple of weeks.

Cheers.
